Well that's how I play at least. Coming out of the gate saying you have no info and no ability to verify your role is kind of a weird position to put yourself in if you are a true townie.
A fake townie (aka a werewolf) has something to gain by claiming vanilla early. A true vanilla townie does not.
Oh. So... towns should stay quiet and let the important people talk and only speak up for counterclaims?
Or bluff to try and draw out information. Ellowyn was a Mason with Cen, as confirmed by each other and Silvanus. Considering there's no Minion this time around, I believe their story, but unfortunately for Ellowyn, Ileein's starting role is still something of a question mark. He was the third to claim vanilla villager.
A possible night-phase scenario, assuming the most honesty from the most number of people:
1. Unconfirmed Werewolves wake and acknowledge each other.
2. Ellowyn and Cen (Masons) wake and acknowledge each other.
3. Silvanus (Seer) peeps Ellowyn's role and sees she is a Mason.
4. Synkarin (Robber) trades roles with Silvanus.
5. Daraius (Troublemaker) swaps Ileein and Ellowyn.
6. Unconfirmed Drunk swaps with unknown unused role.
7. Insomniac (Falmiis) wakes to see he is still an Insomniac.
If all of this is true (and lord knows it probably isn't), we're looking at Ileein, Cen, Silvanus, Synkarin, Daraius, and Falmiis as town, and Ellowyn, Celina, Tremula, and Dylara as suspects.
The bluff thing just screws with the town. More often than not it just initiates circular accusations of he said/she said.
I think Sidd is still a baddie but won't vote for him for the reasons I stated.
So that leaves sorting through the Vanilla townie claims.
I'm also suspicious of Darius for his weird approach to this game/attempt to control the conversation's direction or speak on behalf of bad tactics (blind bluffing, "dishonest townies can cause wolves to out themselves.") Though he kind of did the same thing last game and was town, so I think it's just him and not his role. I'm going to keep giving him the stink eye over it but there are better options right now.
Yep, Troublemaker is a pretty good opening claim for a wolf, since the true Troublemaker can only ever be town. Even if he's robbed, he's still a townie. But if I were a wolf I don't know if I'd be ballsy enough to come right out with that on my second game. I'd have to be lucky enough that the Troublemaker was unused again, since I don't know how I'd deal with a counter claim.

You just have a hate boner for me. :P
I'm pretty sure all my tactical talk has been sound. This isn't mafia! But I definitely came to the wrong conclusion last time around so I'm a little more wary about having/expressing strong convictions.
I don't know, this whole game is pretty set for the werewolves to begin with. It's pretty tough to out the wolves as it is. I was just trying to get people talking and see what could happen. It likely backfired, but it's got to be easier than just speaking the truth.
Well this is where I diverge from dogman's approach. I think the primary goal of the town is to arrive at a consensus and all vote together. It's like step #1 to even having a chance at winning. The mafia naturally votes together, and they don't talk about it openly, so you have to overcome their numbers first and foremost.
If we can't reach a consensus, we lose regardless of what information we have.
All this bluffing/lying/etc stuff sends the town into a death spiral of disagreements and everyone just votes as they see fit based on a mass of confusing information.
We lost last game because we didn't' accomplish a consensus. everyone just did their own thing and crossed their fingers.
Okay, okay. You're right, both that we don't need to analyze how sound my tactical advice is right now, and that spouting all my theories and beliefs is just the weird way I play. Afterwards we can talk about the actual primary goal of the game, which is for each player to try and determine and achieve his individual win condition.
That's the part I'm still working on. So far I've been pretty bad at it. )
It really is the pits that vanilla townies can just shrug and keep quiet the whole time. I'm going to shut up for a little while too, since this is how I drew heat last game.
We have 4 supposed vanilla townies, out of 2 possible townies. Meaning two of them are lying one way or the other. We can have a combination of werewolf/tanner (Those are the only 3 roles that would ideally lie if we're all playing the 'truth' game).
There's literally zero evidence to back up anyone's claim other than just feeling. I know you say it's convenient to claim vanilla townie first as a werewolf, but convenience isn't evidence. @Dylara offered up first, after Daraius pushed for information (and said he was the troublemaker). @Ileein only revealed his role when it was found out the troublemaker switched him and Ellowyn and people pressured him. Then Tremula, followed up by you claimed the last two spots.
Any decision about who is lying and who isn't is going to be completely arbitrary. It doesn't matter if we have a consensus or not. An incorrect concensus is still a loss.
I don't disagree, but we can't squeeze blood from a stone. Unless you just catch someone outright lying an can prove it (ie: you), you can really just look at the available suspects and hope for the best. If we don't have the info by now, we're not going to have it in 4 hours.
Good lord, it would be hilarious if I got myself lynched again as a townie. I suppose it's time for the prestige again. Ileein and Ellowyn still have their original roles. It was actually Synkarin and Cyndarin I swapped.
