Actually, "Shota" is used in japanese to refer to a young man, or boy. It's the gender opposite of what they call "Loli", which is a loanword from the english "lolita" which the japanese use to refer to a young woman, or girl.
Technically, there aren't sexual connotations within the word/definition itself, but the cultural context they are most commonly used in do imply such.
