It was the "able to see all out of phase people", "able to check everyone elses defenses", "able to WHO see cloaked players", and so on that were really powerful, not the 'don't spend a few seconds to raise two otherwise free defenses' parts, heh.*
Does the enter or exit thing work on phased people?
*Also, something being released doesn't make it not overpowered.

It's because so many facets of the game are outright broken and protected by those who benefit from it being that way. An overabundance of gimmicks (including game-breaking ones), artifacts that destroy any concept of balance, blatant pay-to-win features, and an obsession with convenience that makes few things actually worthwhile all contribute to the game's sad decline.

Rune of the Fashionista: Can have an extra splendor and masterarmor item at once. Buy two runes to be able to have three at once and so on. For the people who like to change their armor designs a lot.
Any sufficiently advanced pun is indistinguishable from comedy.
Upgrades to the censers that allow you to terrain swaths of areas at once? Essentially taking 10p and one balance to flood/cloud/wyrd/desert/forest/taint 10 rooms at a time, so long as the area could have been terrained by the standard *cast ability. ie 10p and the air censer does AEROCAST CONDENSATE in 10 cloudless rooms. Obviously an active meld would stop it.
Brooch of Eroee - Any room you are in during a village revolt is considered peaced, Your influence while wearing this brooch is diminished by a lack of urgency.
Astrologian's Boon - You can count on the stars to see you through - when using rays against another player, you can tune this device to allow you do decide which effect occurs rather than the target's natal chart.
Gnomish Tradesmaster's Tool - Counts as...everything...for every trade.
That Eroee artifact is broken. Put it away for full power influencing when you are not in danger. Pull it out for immunity when contested and nobody can ever hurt you.
Changling Collar - Attaches to your pet or beast. Lets you re-describe your pet's description, movement, short description, etc once per month. Maybe even lets you redescribe your beast attack to encourage people to buy the non-default attack upgrade.
Omnidamage Rune - 1/11 to all damage types.
<race> Frankenstein Potion - Sip to activate any of the Lv 1, 25, 50, Demi, Demi+ perks of the race for a month. Refills once per month. However, it suppresses the corresponding perks of your current race (or the corresponding Frankenstein Potion effects you may already have). This allows you to mix and match the perks you want without piling up any crazy bonuses.
Energy-Destiny Converter - Lets you spend <x> power to significantly increase the odds of a critical hit on your next attack.
For Mister Zvoltz, Pejat has been terminated by the Replicant Dynodeon.
Looking for a couple of really cool ideas for high priced artifacts!
We could use more curios. I can't believe I just said that.
If you felt like making more trade curios like the cooking ones, that would be great.

Pretty sure I've posted these before, but no harm in trying again.
Amulet of Experience: Increases experience gains from all sources by X%. Ideally, you could sell it in combinable pieces. So you might be able to take up to five pieces, each of which gives X/5% bonus to XP, and stack them to customize your buff. Combine the pieces into one artifact as you buy them to reduce inventory spam.
The Egotistical Altar: Can OFFER CORPSES TO SELF if you have this altar, giving you karma as though you have offered them to an actual god. Could have it generate buffs of some kind for every X essence offered if you want. Serves to help people who would rather RP as being all secular and stuff get some use out of their corpses and get that sweet, sweet karma from offering.
Shard of the Seal of X: One version for each karma blessing. Counts as permanently having that blessing without requiring karma to upkeep.
Adorable Gnomish Urchin: ADOPT GNOME INTO FAMILY to permanently increase your current family's population by one person. Stacks up to some reasonable number that makes it useful but prevents greathouses with 2 real people and 48 gnomes.

An artifact upgrade to the planimeter that allows you to attune to as many environments at a time as you wish. ATTUNE RELEASE is boosted up to a max of 33% heal (11% at one attuned environment, 33% at 3), does not require balance or equilibrium, does not consume equilibrium and works while prone.
Collar(Headset?) of Aetheric Resonance - grants the wearer Omniscience
CAVEAT 1 - In order for Veneration to not get gutted, Veneration Omniscience will now affect all cult members as well.
Why? This, combined with the artifact itself, should reduce the number of people looking to have their own cult purely to have access to Omniscience (yes, this is a thing). It should also help encourage membership in active cults vs. simply creating more cults.
CAVEAT 2 - Those with the collar as well as veneration omniscience will get the added benefit of having the casting cost/upkeep removed. It's the best token benefit I could think of for having both.
Allows you the option to craft items without your personal mark. Also allows the writing of books as an anonymous author (or perhaps with a pen name, I would love to publish controversial books under pseudonym).
I'm still hoping for a passive lesson/skill gain artifact. I'd save up for something that lets me ooze my way towards omnitrans, and would be fine with it being non-refundable. In that vein..
tequila of tenacious trainability / can of common sense - ???? credits
Consumed upon use, non refundable
Gain the permanent ability to TRAIN <skill> once per weave, raising its progress to the next skill level by X%
If it's a long-term investment that, say, pays off 1-5cr worth a day, it could be a worthwhile purchase if priced at like, 2000cr minimum. You pay a lot up front in exchange for having to pay less long-term, they get a big chunk out of you that they might never have gotten over time, etc.
Granted. This honestly sounds more like something that'd be an auction artifact if it showed up at all. And anyone who could afford it wouldn't need it, so...
This kind of sounds like Iron Realms Elite. I get free lessons every day by just logging in.
I am up to 6459 lessons and nothing really to spend them on... I've learned all warrior specializations, all tradeskills I have access to, and all tertiaries. I just have a large pile of lessons!
