Hmm so, even if we lynch him and he's immune, we can't trust him because he could be scum with an immunity? Hrm. Must admit though I'd be more inclined to believe the whole claim if he was honest about the immunity (which came out second. Why lead with a lie?)

See that's the thing, I'm not sure lynch immunity is a convenient defense. That'll just make everyone go "okay let's try," and then they do. Like we are now. a bomb defense would be convenient.

There's the fact that he told us about the immunity? Seems like a very town-ish thing to do, to share info, but there's the fact he said it only when it looked like he'd be lynched and at the last moment, which seems vaguely shady and like an "oshit" mafia lie to save himself.
Yo, I give up. If we want to lynch him I'm down but if someone wants to present another strategy I am all ears.
"Oh yeah, you're a naughty mayor, aren't you? Misfile that Form MA631-D. Comptroller Shevat's got a nice gemstone disc for you, but yer gonna have to beg for it."
Vigilante, made a bad call the first night. My reasoning for day one lynching supports that I was playing the numbers game and hoped I'd roll a seven if I was playing craps. Didn't pan out. Absolutely my bad.
Have a one time immunity. Would prefer to have it wasted by the scum when they decide to come for me.
You guys appear to have nothing better to do, either no lynch, pick someone at random, or lynch me which will serve no purpose other than burning my immunity. But it'll verify that claim, which you could take as proof of my being a townie. Or not, because yo, it's a game of mafia.
No one's going to come forward with more night time information, since that just paints a target on their back, and it'd be a bad move.
So, yeah. Figure it's either lynch me, or it's a no lynch vote to another night and hope the mafia get blocked or something again.
Also, of note, if you look through my posts for the day, I've tried to be subtle about letting everyone know lynching me is a waste of a day. It wasn't a sudden "OH HAI GAIZ I'M IMMUNE", I was just trying to not be quite that blunt about it.

All I'm saying is if we lynch and he lives, we'll have confirmed we wasted a power, won't know he's mafia or not still, and we'll be here again. Which I think is the most likely outcome.

But anyways, with no further leads and this discussion becoming circular vote: Tarkenton
It takes SIX votes to reach a majority at Los Alamos.
"Hey! I saw you come with guardsman and had them escort Doctor Teller off the premises!"
"He still works for us, just not at Los Alamos. These things happen, it is part of my job."
"We will not stand for this! I think. Maybe us scientists should stick together?" echoes the chorus.
"We have sent word to Congress, you should be stripped of all privileges and sent to Hell for your mistake. I will make sure Joe hears of this," a confident Synkarin quips.
"Yes, send him to the University of Milwaukee!"
The group begins to fill out the forms to transfer Tarkenton towards a new base of operations, send him off to Wisconsin to work the rest of his career in hell. Most of you tend to be confident that it will not work, the US of A has been leaning towards big science and Tarkenton has been important in the project for awhile.
You filed the complaints and Synkarin talked with his Congressman friend, Joe, I am sure we will find out soon when you involve the Red Scare. You didn't expect word back so soon, but you knew it was bad when an army Jeep pulls up and not an armed escort.
"Urgent Message! For Tarkenton."
The seemingly hulking presence of Tarkenton gathers the telegram, briefly looks over the note before tearing it apart and throwing it off towards the wind, returning back to his work. You catch a piece of the note out of the air and read the return address:
1400 Defense Pentagon, Washington DC, 20318
I suppose that the Pentagon has their reasons for keeping someone of Tarkenton's nature around. He was not lying after all, he does have the connections to secure his job.
"Oh yeah, you're a naughty mayor, aren't you? Misfile that Form MA631-D. Comptroller Shevat's got a nice gemstone disc for you, but yer gonna have to beg for it."
It seems that the Cold War has begun to heat up, as the race for nuclear expansion continues. The American government has started testing more nuclear weapons, as reports of Operation Crossroads and other nuclear testing that occured in the Pacific begin to be revealed.
The University of California in LA has begun construction on a School of Medicine. They've brought on Doctor Stafford Warren, who was previously connected with the Manhattan Project and the aforementioned Operation Crossroads.
Luce was in charge of all safety measures within Los Alamos, and made a name for himself when he invented and improved on the existing Mammogram that is used at your local Doctor's today.
So come on down to UCLA's brand new School of Medicine, ran by the Doctor that protected and saved the scientists that worked on the Manhattan Project!
{Luce won with town and was the Doctor that protects you}
IT IS NOW DAY 3
At Los Alamos, it takes SIX votes to reach a majority.

I find it kind of suspicious that the scum left the vigilante up. Not trying to implicate Tarkenton, just kind of confused by what strategy is being pulled here. I won't argue the loss of a doctor is a great tragedy for our workplace, though. Anyone else know how to work a defibrillator?

Yeah losing Luce definitely sucks. Leaving the vig doesn't necessarily mean that Tark is scum, though. Like it's still possible, but the other angle is that the scum want us to mistakenly think Tarkenton is scum and are trying to implicate him. Does that make sense?
I feel like leaving him alone though until more people talk. I was a bit surprised he had an immunity actually, and that makes me more willing to be down for him being town. Just a hunch, but if no one else has come forward as vigilante, I'm not sure that scum would need or have a 1-time kill immunity. Unless we have a third party or something.

Oh man I hate these forums. I hate them so very much. Here is what I typed in response to Trem:

Ouch. Losing the doctor is a bit of a blow. Tarkenton still being alive is somewhat suspicious, but then again the scum may have assumed he would be protected, since he outed himself? Or as Sylandra said, he makes a convenient scapegoat.
HMM I really have no idea. I have no real leads right now. As usual though I would like to see the more quiet among us post a little more substance if they could. I feel the scum can slip under the radar by not talking very much. It certainly worked for Othero and Allyrianne last game.
Just to be doubly sure that we're not dealing with an arsonist, anyone else find a berating note or similar as @Tremula did on Night 1? If not, Tark's believable to me, especially after the Pentagon connections revealed by the flavour lynch text. Think I have an idea of who he is, but will leave to him if he wants to claim identity. But I'm pretty satisfied he was just a trigger happy vigilante.
Caveat: I was convinced Synkarin was Gideon in the last game. My radar can be faulty!

lol knew we were going to waste that lynch. Now what do we do with him, we are exactly where we started but down a doctor. Either we lynch again to confirm his claim, though we don't get much out of that substantively, or we go for the quiet ones.
