  • It's a total mistake. I submitted my piece hella late, like midnight of July 31 late, apparently even in August late, but it went in the July submissions anyway. It's been bugged, but yeah August stuff ain't been announced yet.

Is it in poor taste to trash a design and resubmit it if it seems to be taking a long time to get approved? :/

I'd say yes, but it's not really going to change anything. Whatever's holding up your design is just going to keep on happening. If anything, it will make your design take longer.

The hold up seems to be confusion over whether wetfold origami can have three colors. I fixed the other error.

If I recall how mortal design reviewing works from what I've read on forums/gathered from anecdotal observations, it seems like once mortal reviewers review a design once, they can't do so again.  That being the case, if you've fixed problems with it several times, your available pool of people to review is likely rather small.  So, by trashing the current design item and tossing it into a new one, it'd put it back into the pool I'd imagine.  Whether or not that's poor taste/skirting the edges of some unwritten rule, I couldn't say.  I've considered it doing it once or twice, but then the design in question seems to get approved within the hour.
This is what I've been told too. I can't imagine every available reviewer used up their review slot to tell me wetfolds use two pieces of vellum. I just want to flood the market with tiny Daraius origamis. :(

Okay, that sounds much more reasonable.  Thanks!

Kalnid's book has been up there since July's winners were announced. Agree that it is probably an error.

Now, @Zeleni. All entries does not, in fact, list all entries. It lists everything that placed in the bardics by month, without filtering by winner, runner up, or merit. Your submissions will list everything that you have ever submitted, including things that did not place. If it's listed under awaiting approval, that means it's for a month that hasn't been judged yet. The drafts section shows things that have not yet been submitted to the judges. Published works are things that have been judged, regardless of if they placed or not.
Any sufficiently advanced pun is indistinguishable from comedy.
  • Oh, okay.  Thank you for the information, @Portius.

  • Do 'rooting' abilities like red/malkuth or beast balancing resist things like gust, or just 'unwanted summons'?

On who/qwho, are people with cloaking gems counted in the 'off-plane' number, or just not counted at all?

  • It resists gusts. Broadly speaking it resists "forced movement".

    Yes, they are counted.

Is there anything that reveals shrouded people entering / leaving the room, as with their name? I can rely on harmony to show me somebody is moving, but not whom.

  • How much does prestige actually effect charity influencing? For instance, if I scarecrow hat and influence a krokani vs wearing full splendours and covered in bling, how many more influences will that require in theory?

For me, before race changes, felt like 1 or 2 going from blinged to wearing hat. Not sure with influence stats having changed.

It is significant. For weaker mobs, you'll probably notice at least one hit less, and two or three on stronger ones. The effect on weak mobs you can already influence in just a couple of hits is probably minimal.

Two things might be important to note.

One, the scarecrow hat does not give you full "negative" prestige, so you won't be noticing the full effect unless you stack more tawdry clothes on, too.

Two, your actual results may vary, depending on how strong your influencing attacks are (runes, origami, etc.). Prestige doesn't directly affect your influencing power, it changes how long it takes a mob to begin resisting your influence. That is to say, when we still had charisma higher cha people got more out of prestige than lower cha people, because they got more hits at full strength.

Why is the Compass of the Basin owner-only? That would make it the only (?) transportation artifact that is, and it's probably the weakest of them, as the majority of locations it travels to are easy (and indeed faster for many players) to path to, it has a long channel for use, and its locations are both set and broadcast third person.

How much of an essence buffer should I have before I blow 70 mil on SecondTradeSkill?

  • How much can you stand? Adjust for propensity for raiding!

Remember if you lose demigod you irreversibly lose all your powers!
  • Enough to die and not lose demi in the places you frequent: ie. at least enough to phoenix once in neutral prime territory - and if you do combat, enemy prime territory.

Actually, that reminds me, I'm fairly certain the Hartstone invested in one of those and other guilds/orgs might have too, would there be something for them?
  • LavinyaLavinya Queen of Snark Australia
10 mil is a nice safe buffer. Some are comfortable with less, but you're not going to lose demi in a hurry with that much.

  • I had something like 300 (just 300, not thousand) essence left over after I got secondtrade, cause I was just that excited to do it right away. But I was also okay with not leaving my city at all until I did enough guard stacks to cover a phoenix or two.

It just depends on how much, or how soon, you're expecting to die. People don't gank like they used to.

Mayor Steingrim, the Grand Schema says to you, "Well, as I recall you kinda leave a mark whereever you go."
  • 10 million buffer -sounds- good and all, and is my goal, but that would assume I actually have the patience to wait that long and not burn everything buying a second trade skill I won't actually have the lessons to Trans.

And given I'm currently forcefeeding my pony fruit and suporu while debating if I really NEED the 100 train ability I'm going for when I can just teach it a 50 train ability NOW, I'm not super hopeful.

Get in on one of our dank aetherhunts!

P.S. Even though I don't raid or even really defend, considering I lost Demi five minutes after achieving it the first time, and since I'm a super zen and patient monk irl, I'm going to err on the side of caution. :)

@Daraius Well, if Aeldra knew that there were 'dank aetherhunts', she'd probably be intrigued, sadly she is yet very oblivious about other orgs and their doings :-)

I really made that comment laughing about myself because I was all 'aww want shiny new abilities' :-)

Pretty sure they've stated it's a stand alone deal.

What in all can you get from presents?

Wait what? She's still there, though. Anybody got an idea what's causing that?

You probably got her from a present. It was bugged and she wasn't properly tagged with you as the owner. Issue yourself and mention the # of the doll.
Everiine said: The reason population is low isn't because there are too many orgs. It's because so many facets of the game are outright broken and protected by those who benefit from it being that way. An overabundance of gimmicks (including game-breaking ones), artifacts that destroy any concept of balance, blatant pay-to-win features, and an obsession with convenience that makes few things actually worthwhile all contribute to the game's sad decline.
