Are ikons physical things?

I like Psychodrama, but I'm never really sure if our ikons are considered physical objects IC. Likewise with gestalts. How are these things supposed to be conceptualized IC?

Since you keep setting this back to a question, I'm just going to say: No, they are not physical things.  You cannot pull them out, show them off, interact with them (aside from custom-built emotes) or anything- the only place where they are actually "active" is when on a stage (where they "come to life").  A gestalt isn't really physical either, it's more of a combination of things that give you some protection against ego loss when influencing.

They're basically Lusternia's equivalent of real-world e-goods; objects that exist only as little bits of 1's and 0's but can still be transferred.  Real Life Player:Lusternian Curios::Lusternian Character:Ikons

Ikons are just images of things. They aren't physical objects, just a sort of picture. Gestalts are just the mental place you store your in-use ikon images.

I kind of think of them as a magical realisation of Jungian archetypes – as in not physical items, but literally ideas that you 'learned' from the quest you completed which serve as dramatic universals or something, like trying to quantify/gamify inspiration, or some such? So if I do a quest and recieve "an illithoid reaver", I haven't been handed a physical item, like a little miniature – it's more that I've maybe understood this symbol for what it truly represents, which is 'a common soldier figure, inclined towards the use of brute force' (i.e the 'idea' of 5 physical damage)

Pure conjecture, though. I've never even battled anyone!

I personally think that they're like dreamweaving motes. They're objects, have fixed properties, exist in space and so forth, but they're not physical in the same sense that a toy soldier is a physical object.
