What stats are looked for in pvp? What's an ideal set of stats, in other words?

(I assume bashing is max speed, then max damage).

Yes, speed is all that matters for kata weapons. To be truthful, however, the min/max stats for each stat type for a kata weapon is within 10 points of each other, so there is actually very little noticeable difference whether you are max speed or min speed. Most forgers make their kata weapons max speed already, anyway, so any you buy from a shop is usually the "right" stats. For all intents and purposes, though, kata weapons are more like bard instruments or guardian symbols than warrior weapons.
