Mechanics of room-building: Can new rooms take up the vnum of deleted rooms?

I'm tracking what I've explored by saving the vnum of every individual room I've walked through. With the (apparent) deletion of Eventru's realm, which was relatively huge, one thought came to mind: Can new areas re-use the vnums of the rooms used in his realm/temple and thus throw my tracker off the track?

Generally, yes, if a room is deleted permanently then a new room can and likely will (at some point) take its place.
