Influencing ponies?

Are ponies worth having for influencing buffs or not?

Sure, why not? Beasts can be quite helpful as influencing companions. I do not regret buying those buffs for Ilistala; they are not terribly strong but every little bit does help, especially when stacked with other buffs. And if all you are doing with the pony is influencing abilities you won't even have to splurge credits, just spend a bit of gold. That makes it an even better investment!
