Appearance:

a wedding cake resembling a stuffed ghost pepper

Dropped:

Perched on a plate is a cake that looks for all the world like a stuffed ghost pepper.

Examined:

Perched in the center of the plate is a shiny comestible that looks like

nothing more than a ghost pepper of Verasavir, bulging from a stuffing

of cheese, and lightly coated in some sort of oddly shiny breading. But

surely no pepper in Verasavir ever grows as large as this, the size of a

large wedding cake. Sitting beside it is a small bowl filled with a

shiny white substance that looks like sour cream.

Consume:

Cutting into the cake reveals not tangy pepper and pungent cheese but

rich, eggy cake filling in a pale red, redolent with the scent and taste

of strawberry filling. The outer coating, which resembled breading and

pepper-flesh, is actually caramelized and crystallized sugar. Piece by

piece, you pluck chunks of sweet cake from the pepper, then dunk them

into the small bowl, just as you would with pepper and sour cream, only

the creamy white substance proves to be smooth buttercream frosting

which takes the edge off the sharper flavors of caramelized sugar and

strawberry cake. Bit by bit, you make your way through the sweet and

filling cake and frosting until nothing but a few stray crumbs remain.

Smell:

While the shape of the cake evokes expectations of sharp, spicy aromas and the pungent tang of cheese, a sniff near it actually smells of sugar, strawberry, and buttercream.

Taste:

The outer surface of the cake, which resembles breading, turns out to be crystallized sugar, delicately flavored with caramel.
