Avaris Doodles!

Hey all! While I'm no true artist, I doodle once in a blue moon, and I figure having this little thread might motivate me to scribble more.

For now, have my rough draft of Avaris! He's a Paladin in New Celest, and is (I hope) going to be a follower of Lantra.

Protecting the small doesn't always have to involve violence. (He will be miserable later when his floof is sodden, but Worth It.)

He protecc but he also atacc (this was a teenytiny thumbnail, so it's messy and hard to discern, but he uses four swords! Zoro eat your heart out.)

Rough outline for Avaris' demigod form! (I rushed this because I am hopefully getting some sweet commissions soon!)

I tried to channel the knight aesthetic, blended with an archangel, while keeping his origins as a big ol' moth man in there. His head is a lot more helm-like, his antennae are liquid light, and his compound eyes have changed to seven, which can - amazingly! - squint and widen and emote. Because I really missed being able to blink, which is not something I thought I would long for. The wings themselves can disappear for convenience (And to make drawing easier, cough), while the eye markings on them can now...Move! And be emotive! Which should be fun.

Also, he's all shiny and gold now. Because I am a sucker for shiny and glowy things!

Not sure how successful I was, but I like it!
