Nels believes that firefly squid are little beacons when the Inner Sea is dark to help guide ships away from danger (though it didn't help poor Cpt. Narule). She also believes that each firefly represents a star in the sky (which doesn't work with mechanics, because there's only 48, but a girl can dream).
Not necessarily a superstition but Uzriel subscribes to the old Geomancer belief that water is not just inferior to earth but disgusting and should be avoided at all costs. Needless to say that puts Carakhan about even with the Soulless in terms of being an Evil Divine to him.
Does your character have any superstitions or just general beliefs that help flesh them out? I love hearing about RP, so tell us about them!
Cao optimistically believes that when a thread is cut, Night adds it to her cloak to keep them safe.
This is such a beautiful idea.
Viravain isn't necessarily superstitious, but She does very much mind the old wisdom of the fae. Unlike most of Her Cousins, She recognises that the beings who populated the First World while They were all away might know things They do not.
It's a good thing, too, as it allowed Her to prepare Glomdoring for the Greev in Her subtle way.

Now, have you held all 48 at once? How do you know there are only 48?
Maybe the rest are hiding from you
Her voice firm and commanding, Terentia, the Even Bladed says to you, "You have kept your oath to Me, Parhelion. You have sworn to maintain Justice in these troubled times."
Yet if a boon be granted me, unworthy as I am, let it be for a steady hand with a clear eye and a fury most inflaming.
I think most people who are close to Cory already know this, but she is distrustful of all uncles and believes that everyone who is an uncle of any form is evil, because the first few uncles of hers that she met turned out to all be evil.
You are startled as a lemon meringue pie bounces harmlessly off you after being thrown at you by Mysrai.
A few of Misericorde's superstitions come out of the Tlingit and Haida tribes - one is she thinks otters swim in mist and steal people's souls, and is secretly terrified of them!
She also believes those who die at sea actually go to dwell with Sarye, who takes on their anguish and grants their soul peace. Which is fairly close to the lore present in game but with a slight twist
Lendren does stick to the theatrical superstitions about wishes of good luck before a show. Sometimes I think about choosing some play to be the analog of "The Scottish Play". She also has the idea that her aethership/sparrow Giallyn can sense if people are secretly malicious and watches how she reacts to people they meet. (It occurs to me she's never actually told that to anyone in game though.)
Orv was of the firm belief that Vengeance games was playing too much with time and would lead to disaster and never participated. Hundreds of years later, she comes back, there's timequakes! >.> She's since played her only game in the Game of Bobseses, and was killed off immediately.

"One can choose to go back toward safety or forward toward growth.
Growth must be chosen again and again; fear must be overcome again and
again."
Changing or rewriting the past is deeply wrong? Like, the goloths event where people from the Nature Wars turned up, there's a lot Saran would do to get rid of the scar but killing the gaudi's and risking altering things was too far so he influenced both sides home from memory. Also came up with was the woodchems release, rationalising why Wisdom Strongleaf did the right thing even though it was "wrong"
Also, pretty much since the Solar Queen Maeve event/Thornroot election seeded the idea, he believes killing/replacing Maeve and/or having some kind of other protection for True Nature that's free from the Wyrd would be what is best for the world.
Curses! Not, like, those regular karma curses, or the extra spicy god curses, but, like curses. They're everywhere. Stuff just gets broken around me a lot because of the curses, and I keep finding myself standing next to or in front of Angry Gods. Oh, and even my booze hates me some days. So, yeah. Cursed.
My Magnagoran believes, like many Magnagorans, that the Fates are traitorous creatures who betrayed Magnagora's trust during the events of Project Cosmic Hope. She also doesn't like that Magnagora uses organic bats (however skeletonized) as their method of post, given bats' association with Viravain and thus, the Wyrd. #MechanicalBatsClub

Lifting a dainty hand to finger your neckline, you glance about with uncertain disdain.
Gurashi isn't superstitious just a little stitious.
They think if you look at your reflection while you shapeshift between races, you will be trapped in that form forever (so always shut their eyes when they change).
‘It’s important to be kind. You can’t know all the times that you’ve hurt people in tiny, significant ways. It’s easy to be cruel without meaning to be. There’s nothing you can do about that. But you can choose to be kind. Be kind.’
Not really a superstition, I don't think, but Lief believes Maylea is always 100% with her literally. Maybe not in a way that she can understand as a mortal, but she believes if she were ever in _real_ danger, Maylea would pop out fully and nope the danger away.
And that's why she won't touch the bindi except in prayer or the very worst of situations. She wouldn't want whatever vague sense of Maylea that is always with her to fully manifest when there isn't any ACTUAL danger or dire need.
(And that's why she tells people not to touch her bindi too! It comes up way more often that you'd think.)
Amazing beautiful stunning avatar by Gurashi! ~ A gentle breeze ruffles your wings and whispers in your ears, as if for you alone, "Dragonfly's words shine... seeds, sown and tended, inspire... a forest harvest." ~ Maylea reaches out, Her fingers poised in midair. "Now you are of Me, even more than you were before." Her golden and azure eyes glitter. "Walk well, Eldin. Shed glory in My name, and bring life to the lifeless."
Xiran holds a private belief involving Lady Lisaera.
Thanks to a teacher-friend, Xiran thinks Serenwilders spiritbonding to Mother Night is gently asking the Nature Spirit to hearken back to a time before the Wyrd.
EveriineWise Old Swordsbird / BrontaurIndianapolis, IN, USA
Ev has always held, and to this day still believes, that curios are insidious little devices/creatures that are taking their time to slowly infiltrate the Basin of Life, waiting for the perfect moment to assert their collective independence and launch a devastating surprise attack that no one will see coming.
Everiine is a man, and is very manly. This MAN before you is so manly you might as well just gender bend right now, cause he's the manliest man that you ever did see. His manly shape has spurned many women and girlyer men to boughs of fainting. He stands before you in a manly manerific typical man-like outfit which is covered in his manly motto: "I am a man!"
Daraius said: You gotta risk it for the biscuit.
Pony power all the way, yo. The more Brontaurs the better.
Lawrence believes any misfortune or inconvenience is caused by him upsetting a Spirit or Elder. No real reason for his logic but it makes him highly neurotic around Elders
Sometimes I imagine Xiran's begging stories out a fae knight, and then they end their tale with something tangible from it, ex. left over sigils or herbs from some combat that took place. A body part if they're being snarky. Or sometimes something completely non-sequitur.
A fae knight says, "Oh alright alright, why don't you take this."
A fae knight pulls a hidden pouch out from underneath his armour and hands you an amber charm.
He gives a darkly iridescent chaos robe to you.
You blink.
This chaotic robe is tailored from layers of heavy cloth and has been cut in a violent fashion along the hems, leaving the edges torn and slashed. It appears to be dyed black, but closer inspection reveals many strands of dark gossamer threads interwoven along the robe. From misty greens and eerie purples to bloody reds, the detail is almost too precise to be haphazard. Painstakingly concealed from the exterior, hidden pockets have been sewn within the robe, ready to hold numerous belongings. An onyx clasp reminiscent of the Seal of Chaos secures a deep-cowled hood in place, which can also be worn over the head creating a very menacing appearance. It has 29 months of usefulness left. It weighs about 3 pounds and 0 ounce(s). It has a trade valuation of worthless. It has a warmth factor of 6. It bears the distinctive mark of Caliph Eritheyl Ryseni, of Rapturous Revelation.
Caressing your ear, the voice of Eritheyl whispers, "I have a great concern for one of my customers. How bizarre."
