So, I am trying to setup a trigger that influences whether I keep on draining mana with amissio or if I absolve when the person is below 50% mana. But, it's not properly working and I am absolving much later than I could be. Also, what could I setup to reset the variable "manakill" so I can switch targets?

So,what am I doing wrong?

Well, for one thing matches[3] and matches[4] will be strings (I am assuming Mudlet, given the matches table) so your if statement should be throwing an error every time you check their mana. Try

if matches[2] == target and ( tonumber(matches[3]) /  tonumber(matches[4]) < 0.5 )  then

As for resetting manakill, add manakill = false to whatever alias you're using to switch targets and it should set you up.

There isn't a quick and clean way to do it that I know of; the trigger itself (or a function it calls) will have to have use the logic that you have in your alias. You would want your alias to send contemplate, and then it would have to either set a boolean variable that you check on your contemplate trigger [ e.g., if matches[2] == target and ( tonumber(matches[3]) /  tonumber(matches[4]) < 0.5 )  and I_want_to_kill_them_boolean then ] or use enableTrigger() to toggle a special trigger that incorporates both what Cern posted and the logic from your current alias. I would recommend doing the former. You would also then want to add a trigger off of the next prompt return to unset the boolean variable or to disable the trigger, unless you are only ever exclusively using contemplate to determine whether you want to kill someone.

Thank you! But, now I have a new problem:

if manakill == true then send("hug " .. target)

else

send("chant amissio " .. target)

end

That's my amissio alias. How can I change it so the most recent result of my trigger is used and not the one before?
