Maybe. I know to me, personally, it won't be worth 50 credits unless I've been playing a while and have a big stockpile, or something really big happened RP-wise that I wanted to express. Maybe I'm just not the target audience, which is totally ok!

The price is silly, it's 50 credits for a word. My resources far outweigh my needs in terms of credits though, so I dumped some on it. For the bulk of the players, though, that's not the case. I don't know if I'm a good example of what people will/can afford for X thing.

Context is important. 50 credits is nothing to someone with a tam, a cameo, a gem, a cubix (or medallion), full resistance runes, goop arties, demigod pendant, etc etc etc. It's a lot for other people. I remember when 50 credits was a lot to me!
  • 'pastoral' for transing Cosmic/Wicca might not be the best-fit word, but the general idea of typecasts per skill is very, very nice!
    See you in Sapience.

Apparently it can mean 'priestly'. As in 'posessing the qualities of a pastor'.

I was having a hell of a time trying to find some of them. Psymet and phantasms nearly melted my brain, and I still don't know how I feel about 'minstrel', 'cavalry', and 'mutant'. In fact 'mutant' is probably one of the worst fits on the list...

I totally read "murderous - transcendent crow" as "murderous - transcendent cow" at first.

Given that I have literally paid 100$+ for an imaginary spatula that doubles imaginary food eaten by imaginary people, 20$ for a custom, private title isn't bad.

It's because so many facets of the game are outright broken and protected by those who benefit from it being that way. An overabundance of gimmicks (including game-breaking ones), artifacts that destroy any concept of balance, blatant pay-to-win features, and an obsession with convenience that makes few things actually worthwhile all contribute to the game's sad decline.

Instead of pastoral, why not reverend/revered?
Everiine is a man, and is very manly. This MAN before you is so manly you might as well just gender bend right now, cause he's the manliest man that you ever did see. His manly shape has spurned many women and girlyer men to boughs of fainting. He stands before you in a manly manerific typical man-like outfit which is covered in his manly motto: "I am a man!"

Pony power all the way, yo. The more Brontaurs the better.
  • Now we need a way to replace the adjective before the race.  Preferably not for 50cr.

  • Alright, after thinking a bit more about it, I do think the cost is worth reconsidering. 50 credits is currently just too much to be an impulse buy - it's more into investment levels. I can see the pros and cons of each: With easy purchases and low cost, it encourages us to adapt to reflect current RP; for example, for a low cost, people may have elected something like "plagued" or "rotten" as a short-term enhancement to this event's RP. However, making the cost high encourages players to make a serious choice for a long-term role.

Estarra and co are the ones with the analytics and reaching insight, but I just wanted to make sure that they were considering the potential for shifting purposes based on changing personal stories. I know that I, personally, would definitely buy a new typecast for every storyline and change my character went through, if it was only 5-10 credits. Over time, imo, that is far more profitable to IRE than singular 50 credit purchases.
  • I really don't see the price dropping, it seems to be doing well.
    Your numbers today are:
  • Eh, debatable. The feature is new and there are always early adopters. Just because something initially sells well does not mean that there is not more profit in the slow, steady sales.

Ok, thought a bit more. Here is a more in-depth reply:

I don't usually buy extreme amounts of credits at once, but I do impulse buy a few hundred or so a month - I think people like me are far more common than the people buying thousands at a time.

Now, if the thousands at a time people are an anomaly - which, let's be honest, they almost certainly are - that means most big credit spenders are more in the 50-500 at a time range. Estarra would know this best, of course. 50 credits out of this amount  (the average monthly purchase) is actually fairly high - it won't deter people who really want something from buying it, but for the casual "sure why not" crowd, it's definitely not appealing.

I understand that established players with a credit bank see this price as fine, but you guys are not where IRE makes the bulk of its money from, unless you guys are buying hundreds of credits each month (maybe you are?). Once you guys all set your preferred typecast, that's it - the market is dry....whereas if the game set the price lower, you'd see CONTINUAL purchases, which will almost certainly outperform any momentary spike you see from the initial introduction.

All that being said, I would certainly buy a "typecast" arti, akin to racechange artis, but where you can set x # of types, if the price were reasonable. I'd also buy a typecast package, akin to the mob reaction packages other IRE games offer, where you get x amount of options for a price. I'd happily purchase a few options...but not for 50 credits per, until I am swimming in credits.

My own opinion, though. Just figured it was worth expressing, as I do often buy credits.
  • SynkarinSynkarin Nothing to see here
I personally think 50 credits is the right price.

It ideally is something special and something unique, the high credit price ensures that the people who buy it are the people that really want it and have developed that 'typecast' as their own previously. It also makes it so people aren't randomly switching all the time.
