Achievement Suggestions

There are a lot of games in Lusternia that could be incorporated into the Achievements system. These include:
  • Bombard
  • Battlechess
  • Game of Fate
  • Ikons
Chess
  • Ghodak
  • Tessera
Achievements for winning a certain amount of gold or winning a certain number of times for these games would be nice:
  • Blackjack
  • Roulette
Achievements for these collectibles would be neat:
  • Curios 
    • separate achievements for completing sets
    • separate achievements for the total number of curios one owns
  • Ikons
    • separate achievements for completing a gestalt composed of entirely Legendary/Epic/etc. ikons
    • separate achievements for winning psychodrama battles
  • Figurine Battles
    • separate achievements for winning figurine battles
    • separate achievements for achieving certain levels
Honour achievements for getting honours lines!

Building off of Kabina's suggestion:


1. 10 debate victories
2. 100 debate victories
3. 1000 debate victories

Scholars and Bards Achievements....

1. 100 Bards escorted
2. 1,000 Bards escorted
3. 10,000 Bards escorted
4. 50,0000 Bards escorted
5. 100,000 Bards escorted

1. 100 Scholars escorted
2. 1,000 Scholars escorted
3. 10,000 Scholars escorted
4. 50,000 Scholars escorted
5. 100,000 Scholars escorted

Pilgrims:

1. 100 Pilgrims escorted
2. 1,000 Pilgrims escorted
3. 10,000 Pilgrims escorted
4. 50,000 Pilgrims escorted
5. 100,000 Pilgrims escorted

Herding cows/sheep/chickens/etc in multiples of:

1. 100 
2. 1,000 
3. 10,000 
4. 50,000 
5. 100,000

    The curios one would have to be for "creating" curios, not for owning; though the initial pass would have to count the ones you own as created.

    Otherwise you can just transfer 'em around.

    Oh, yes, that makes sense. But what about those of us who already have completed curios? Doesn't dismantling them have a chance of losing a piece?

    1. 1 debate victory

    Books read/written. Plays produced/directed/acted/watched. Statues/paintings created/destroyed.

    Not too crazy about books read/plays watched/anything to do with statues/paintings. It's just too easy to read books, and you can easily spam-read more or less any number of books in a few minutes. Plays watched isn't quite as easily spammed, but it'd be easy enough to create an AFK-watcher. If there were achievements for creating and/or destroying paintings, we'd similarly get AFK people in their manses doing that. Same deal for statues, although that would take longer.

    Make the fink/gnome achievements either count influencing, or make seperate ones for influencing finks and gnomes.

    I'd love to see completing Newbie Achievements be the way students graduate the Collegium so that undersecs/secs/GAs know newbies can handle basic things. But... that's not what this thread is about.

    To add to that list of Newbie Achievements, though:

    • Talk to the Collegium [CGT <something>] (probably more important for a newbie than talking to the commune/city)
    • Make influencing achievements for newbies (as Kiradawea mentioned)
    • Set a description [DESCRIBE SELF]
    • Sell vermin
    • Read news.

    My only concern with implementing influencing achievements for gnomes/finks is that might get you pretty close to Circle 20 by the time you've killed and influenced 100 gnomes and 100 finks. Haven't been a newbie for a while... but...?

    Still, I think it's a good idea for pacifists. Maybe combining the achievements somehow would be better?

    Eh, what about Prestige, or whatever, for books/plays? Granted, it'd be more in the 1,5,10,20 range, but still.

    Quests completed! Not unique quests, just number of times. Thinking this could include simple things like turning in rats/weevils, etc. Could also come up with some for number of honours quests too.

    Helping Hand: 1 quest completed
    Astute Assistant: 100 quests completed
    Gainfully Employed: 1,000 quests completed
    Working Overtime: 5,000 quests completed
    Pathological Kindness: 10,000 quests completed

    The problem with quests are that they are very different in their difficulty. For instance, many would argue that turning in a corpse is a quest; would this then be one quest completed per corpse turned in? One quest completed per rat sold? One quest completed per cow lead to a village? Where would the line be drawn?

    The problem with quests is it is very difficult (nigh impossible) to broadly do it, due to the way older quests were done (and still tend to be).

    Could do achievements for "gain x waystation quest curio pieces"

    I have to disagree with that one because I know you're not going to count the pieces already gained.  I DON'T WANT TO DO IT AGAIN.

    I do want an achievement for X curios put together, though!  First pass, just count the complete curios you own towards it.

    Edit: Also, I think Tacita would kill both of us.

    I for one would be all for a "complete x curios" achievement, assuming it counts the completed ones we already have!

    Could. Could do an achievement set for each type (magic/etc), and a set for general quest curios (or by type, so rewards can match difficulty).

    It doesn't show upon ACHIEVEMENTS though, just ACHIEVEMENT STATS. Was it meant to be that way?
