Good deeds and other heartwarming stories

Thought I'd start up a thread for people to share any good deeds they may have seen or done, things that don't really fit into either the general dissatisfaction or raves section.  I'll start out with a good deed I did just 10 minutes ago.

I heard a loud BANG outside, went running outside to find that someone had misread the road and instead of veering off into the temporary lane, went flying into a roughly 1ft deep section of road that had been dug out as part of the current roadworks and was trapped due to the  end they had 'entered' being cut at a 90 degree angle, the other end being blocked by a massive digger.  Driver was fine, actually seemed more surprised than rattled and was completely unhurt, thankfully.

Thankfully the car was still drivable - dunno what condition the shocks were in, but the axles were still intact and the motor turned over fine.
