Kephera RP

I want to RP my character as having been found and raised by Kephera in the Undervault. If someone could please point me to resources for Kephera RP / other relevant stuff, I would be eternally grateful.

Vivet

I can't say I know stuff extensively, but I'll leave you with some points to consider.

- When the Kephera first came to the surface, they didn't speak much and focused on communicating telepathically. You might try to reflect this by being more minimal with speech.

- Males are subservient to females in Kephera society. Treating females with a greater degree of respect should help to reflect this. Note that some players might find this annoying if you get far too sycophant-like.

- Neither Illithoid nor Kephera liked the Sun much when they first got to the surface. You might play up some real light sensitivity, and preference for caves/indoors/nighttime.

- You can't see much in the Undervault, and there's not a lot that grows down there. Kephera eat a lot of wiggly critters and fungus. They also appreciate the more musty smells far better than surface-people. So you might go with the interpretation that surface food is kind of boring to you and have undue resilience and love for smelly/fermented foods. Optionally, you might be totally enraptured by sweets since the Undervault doesn't offer a lot of options there.

Cyndarin

Kephera is my favorite race (currently dracnari, but I've played keph more than anything), and female superiority is part of my RP, but I will say that the random male keph alts that would pop up and overplay the "OH MY QUEEN, GLORIOUS GLORIOUS QUEEN, HOW MAY I SERVE YOU," get old really fast. It's entertaining for a bit but then you just want them to leave you alone.

That being said, I loved the ones that took a more obedient soldier role with their own brain, and less groveling man slave. 

One of the angles you can take is that you are an insect, and insects come in a myriad of varieties. You don't have to play generic UV kephera, but instead a rapidly evolving surface kephera that has adapted quickly, much like insects do, to your new environment. So you could be a more wasp like kephera in Glomdoring, or a fire ant in Gaudiguch. 

I always played heavily on the interaction between psionic energy and elements. They are inherently psionic beings, it's as natural as speaking, and like how telekinesis and fire can interact, I always imagined the same can be done with water or shadows, etc etc etc. Their psionic abilities are just part of them and enhance the visibility of their chosen element/power/whatever.

I literally went elfen because I was so fed up with everyone's keph alts trying to alternately worship me, or tell me that I was rping kephera wrong because I was doing a naturalised overworlder kephera who loved forests.

But before elfen, I spent a long, long time as a kephera with red hair, tattooed to imitate ladybug spots.

I'm not able to play too often right now, but I finally sat and read the Histories. (First off, wow. Incredible mythos.)

That aside, are there resources outside the game for kephera/illithoid histories? The entirety of the Histories didn't even mention Keph/Illith sharding...one of the rather larger pieces that I was hoping was explained and wasn't.

I don't think Keph's sharding has ever been delved into, though we do know it happened long before Illith did. Illith sharding was actually very recent, I think I heard something like 10 years before Illithoid showed up on the surface. If you get down to the Heart of Illith you can see her thoughts and memories leading right up to the moment she shards.
