Extensions - Google Chrome

How come the Firefox addon does live in game updates (like when people die, etc) but the Chrome one doesn't?  Am I supposed to update it or enable something to get that to work in Chrome?

    As an avid user of the Chrome extension, I would also like this answered if possible.
