A quick races question.

So @Marcella's latest news post brought a question to mind, and I wanted to see if anyone had an answer. With the viscanti (and illithoid?) the only races to have pure excorable energy running through them, are there any races that would have more divinus energy by default? Every sharded race should have SOME going through them, at least, but would some be closer to the divinus side like viscanti are to the excorable?

I doubt that any of the other races would have more divinus in them than others. They're all equally descended from elder gods, after all. I suppose if one of the sharded gods had been particularly skilled at manipulating divinus energy (Probably Xyl if anyone, since he seemed to be good at manipulating all energy) then that race might have more divinus. That said, I don't think we have evidence for even Xyl being that good with it. Thinking about it, there might also be a case for dracnari and kephera simply because they came from primal gods and those things were weird and maybe more closely tied to creation, but we once again don't have evidence to say that definitively. So there's a few maybes for you, but none that I feel confident about.

Now, as a side note, there might be a basis for orclach having some excorable in them too, since Orlachmar had some soulless in him ever since he took the elixir.

The only natural species with excorable power naturally in them, a thread passed down through the sharding, are the Krokani(power of eye to see through illusions, not as deep as the orclach) and the orclach. Urlach was able to invent necromancy because he was so deep into experimentation and being orclach that he found that power within himself and .. experimented with it. It would have been MUCH harder than how it is nowadays with Taint *everywhere* we can mess with. 

I don't count humans, whose fertiliy I'm pretty sure is a source of Yudhe's middle-nature between Magnora and Dynara having some excorable power, illithoid, or viscanti as natural for obv reasons. By my logic, though, illithoid should also be able to breed as much as humans....no one has tested this or mentioned anything about it, but it's probably because the illithoid as a species would never *try* it because they would likely find outside mating abhorrent.

It's possible finks have some excorable too, but we won't know unless we're told more about the 'Fininkora Debacle' mentioned in the histories.

I forgot finks. Finks' finkish natures are a direct result of Malmydia's experimentation, so I'd wager money on them being excorable too.

Grumble grumble krokani eye grumble grumble not excorable. Grumble.

But yeah no race has any apparent inherent ability to channel divinus. Faelings maybe.

Aerotan

Faelings are the result of undead!rowena essentially raping Laeroc. It'd need to be one of the sharded races, probably Lucidians for Xyl's control, Merians for Meridian's, or Loboshigaru, Tae'Dae or Furrikin because Lobashi, Tae, and Bollikin sharded when there were still enough Elders flinging energy around that they might have absorbed some post-sharding.

Shadow faelings were the result of Laeroc's rape. Faelings existed long before that, I played as one before Glomdoring was wyrded.
