I tried the quest a million times during the big cataclysmic weather event that had a giant water spout in the Inner Sea. In the absence of other clues, I noticed that it was sucking people to Taerin's drain, and thought the quest there might have some connection, so I spent something like nine straight hours doing the quest over and over to no avail.
I keep reading the cityrank of Earless as meaning 'person without ears', rather than the female version of Earl :-/

Cyndarinused Flamethrower! It was super effective.
I submitted for my custome athame! I'm terrible at design, but I like it. It's all Viravainy and stuff.

A scything athame bound in writhing thorns
Long-
Cocooned in writhing thorns, a sinister athame lies here awaiting its mistress.
Ext-
Little more than the curved blade of a scythe bound by a dagger's hilt, this athame is as simple as it is sinister. The blade itself makes up two thirds of the weapons length, cast in pitch black steel that offers no glint of light from its surface. Inscribed upon each side of the blade is the running form of Black Shuck, the Dark Hound, each eye of the beast inset with a polished ruby. The hilt is a mass tightly bound thorns that writhe impossibly over the blade on their own accord, the stray ends curling across the entirety of the weapon as if searching for the hand that would wield it.

It's because so many facets of the game are outright broken and protected by those who benefit from it being that way. An overabundance of gimmicks (including game-breaking ones), artifacts that destroy any concept of balance, blatant pay-to-win features, and an obsession with convenience that makes few things actually worthwhile all contribute to the game's sad decline.

I want it to be full of typos and missing words so people will be like "oh, this person is a PKer."

Uh, wot? We have the free discretionary construct up, I raise them even when nobody is in the territory.
You guys kill conflict so hard, it's barely even fun anymore. Stop doing that
edit; Pretty sure there wasn't anything resembling an insult in that post, Elanorwen. Merely that you farscouted within seconds of me stepping in to etherseren. But sure, boohoo, insult flag cry whatever.
Funny how people complain about being scried until they own a kaleidoscopic telescope, then those complaints of 'I can't block it, waah' magically disappear.
I miss farscout, I liked being able to stalk all my friends at once, and irritate a plethora of my enemies with one fell swoop. Being scried doesn't upset me. If I'm in a particularly playful mood, I'll even design a manse room just to entertain them! And people doing it back is amusing too. My current favourite is this one -

I miss the days when people scried you to see if you were around to fight, not scrying you to see if you're offline so they can raid.
The divine voice
of Avechna, the Avenger reverberates powerfully, "Congratulations,
Morkarion, you are the Bringer of Death indeed."
You see Estarra the Eternal shout, "Morkarion is no more! Mourn the mortal! But welcome True Ascendant Karlach, of the Realm of Death!

I miss the days when people took champion because they liked to PK. Not cry, heartstop, and auto call for help over clans. Maybe I'm just old school, but people act like losing is a big deal.
Edit: I remember when there was a gentlemans agreement between orgs to not use discretionaries unless it was an smob raid because it discouraged conflict too much.

I get where you are coming from but if losing isn't a big deal then why are you concerned about not being allowed to win?
Also, jumping someone isn't exactly announcing that you are looking for a fair fight.
I miss when people raided because they had something to prove, or something to accomplish. Not raiding simply because someone raided you, or to prove the size of your e-peen. I miss when raiding mattered.
