When influencing, there are three "stats" that are of relevance:
Charisma - Affects the eq time for influence attacks, as well as the damage (which is analogous to how str and int affect other damages).
Prestige - Increases the time it takes before a mob starts resisting your influence attacks.
Generic "buff" (doesn't have a real name) - Increases the amount of damage done to the mob's ego.
Various things affect generally one or the other of the latter two categories (though there's an exception or two that affect both).
Many, maybe most of us want to keep some villages as peaced. They do give non-coms a taste of pk without nearly the risk, but perhaps even more importantly they let under-leveled, under-geared, less informed, and less experienced players participate.
The key change I think would help would be to limit the power of divert (at least in peaced villages). In no particular order:
a) If an org has not influenced that specific denizen, then a divert by a member from that org does not restore denizen ego. The idea here is that in debate wars, the diversions by 'allies' wouldn't be nearly or completely resetting the denizen's ego.
b) If stuborness is really kicking in, let's try disabling it for village denizens during a revolt? Stuborness is a nice mechanic for general influencing, but it could be removed for revolts and doing so might just help shorten these multiple hour revoltes.
c) Add some mechanic to track attacks by indivual orgs on individual denizens, to grant a boost to those of that org when influencing. A mouthful I know. The effect of this would be to reward the orgs for getting in hits with bigger hits to help outpace the worse of divert.
d) A moderate revamp of village influencing. Instead of a single pool, track each org on each denizen in separate pools. Divert adds (or subtracts) roughly one influence from all pools. This would get things away from the 'can win it with a single hit' and give the edge to the org with the most influences. However, should another org show up and compltely dominate they still have a chance at winning...by out competing rather than just a lucky hit.
I was always told that divert reset their ego to full.
It hasn't done this in years. It just gives a small restoration to the denizen's ego. This is why someone can one-hit them after a divert while it would have taken you more-- they become resistant by organization influence, so if you influence a mob 10 times with Glomdoring, your next influence is not going to be at max effectiveness. However, Hallifaxian who shows up will be at 100% with their first hit. So if you were close, well... easy tag for them!

I think this video sums up everyone else's reaction to this bombshell.
"You are so much bigger than you think you are," She says, fervently. "You are a beacon of hope that shines through the world with every step you take. You are My beacon, Gabriella, and you shine even into the darkest of nightmares."

The air sparkles with silver motes of light as a silken voice says, "You will see growth and strength where others will see weakness. You will walk with Us as a paragon of Serenwilde's power, for you have already walked this path before."

Yeah kegs are...wonky...lately. More infuriating is when a keg shows on wares as having refills, yet you're told it's empty when you try to fill from it.

I keep seeing @Lothringen trawling the forums. He really should come back and play again. Even if it means more graffitti around the city declaring how tone-deaf the Aois-Dana is.
Trade bans are stupid. You people are just hurting yourselves. I see someone ask for days and days for an obscure trade (hello artisan or tinker), finally decide to be kind and offer to help out, but of course, not they're not allowed to deal with a Magnagoran. Go ahead and keep on looking for another week. This is why I just ignore market ads most of the time.

But the taint! The TAAAAAAAINT! If I touch something you make I will be contaminated with cooties the taint!
(seriously though, business is business and with the seemingly dwindling numbers, beggars can't be choosers)
Never put passion before principle. Even if you win, you lose.
If olive oil comes from olives, where does baby oil come from?

Why are people so terribly resistant to the threory that the speaking ants in Lolliprin are not actually ants at all, but an isolated lost hive of kephera?
If they are, then they're -really- devolved and grew stingers and don't use wax likekephera do for all their building, just as the gnomes and finks therein have. Which is another reason why. Newton is so. Irrelevant.

Only in terms of discovery, right? The shroomies in lolliprin are descended from the hyfae, whose existence, like the kephera, was unknown until the opening of the undervault. I really like this idea. The sweeping ramifications of the great shake of 100 days continue to be revealed.
You say, "Tell me about the shroomies." Wise Lamella says, "A name not heard for quite some time indeed. Once Ukar's favoured children, they were sent away during the Great Shake of a Hundred Days."

Not to mention the keg shouldn't even be on sale... That is one of my personal kegs that I keep in Nyxx's shop (wop)...

I cannot agree more. While I kinda get that Celestians might not want to trade with Magnagorans, everyone else (save for, perhaps, Serenwilde) should really be relatively okay with it.
Also, if you need an artisan (depending on what you need it for), poke Ssaliss, since I recently got a fancy cord and started learning a bit of each trade. Not sure off-hand how high I got artisan, but I know I have at least up to desks, and I think I got a couple above it as well.

There is an Illith book, which is barely comprehesible, but really cool.
