That's what we call Triangulation. It is neither good for them or you to be the middle man.
I know the pitfalls, but hopefully these two people are unique enough that it doesn't end up all of us hating each other. I don't like being the 'logical' one though.
Update: I am no longer death, but I did end up purging myself like 9 or 10 times last night. Thank you to all the people who suggested a Gatorade/Poweraide for electrolytes -- it really calmed my stomach down. I just need to get some food now, since I skipped dinner and lunch.

Don't eat something that will make you feel ill again. Avoid heavy grease/fat content and try for something dry to keep your tummy settled.

Why is it considered an acceptable use of time for managers to continue to change the database structure every time they go like "oops, we didn't think of that" aka they don't check if the final development meets the requirements after we finish working on it? I'm in my fourth month of my probation period, and major reviews are happening far too often for my likes. And our lead developer says we can't fight against it because "the bosses decide to pay us, we have to listen and do what they ask". Uuuuuuugh. I'm working on starting a freelance side-business, but that will take a while to grow, so I really was hoping to have a smooth job experience here. Why is that too much to ask? Why is this inefficiency and horribly frustrating way of doing things considered normal in IT? And my first day back at work was going so well

Gagged myself brushing my teeth this morning and dry heaved for ten minutes. Battery died in car, had to replace. Tempted to just go home and go back to bed before I get in a wreck or something.

A Jeff Dunham / Walter joke comes to mind...
Everiine is a man, and is very manly. This MAN before you is so manly you might as well just gender bend right now, cause he's the manliest man that you ever did see. His manly shape has spurned many women and girlyer men to boughs of fainting. He stands before you in a manly manerific typical man-like outfit which is covered in his manly motto: "I am a man!"

Pony power all the way, yo. The more Brontaurs the better.

One of those days today...haul myself to the doctor and get antibiotics for the sinus infection that is like blades stabbing my face, just get home and put the baby to bed and the school rings. Get up poor baby and run the boy's swimming gear (that I forgot this morning) to school. Put baby back to bed, lie down on the couch to ease my broken face and hope to nap....half an hour later, school rings again. Wake up poor baby and put her into the car for the zillionth time today and head back to school to pick up my sick son...who has a miraculous recovery as soon as he gets home. Head back to school half an hour later to get the other child from school (whyyyyy didn't I just get her early??).....now I have a house full of really loud midgets and my brain feels like it is being hacked with an ice-pick.
In other news, I'm giving away some children, free to good homes. In fact, I'm having a two-for-one deal today!

Sounds like you're having one crazy-rough mommy day. I hope things get better, especially with you being sick.
My whole FB feed is full of people who are either excited about their plans for spring break or are posting awesome pictures of their travel destinations. And here I am, with neither the time, nor the money for that, working under a library, writing in said library, sleeping in said library, eating next to said library and even living near said library...the only thing I don't get is a break from said library....

The whole image is probably far less romantic in reality than it seems in my mind. I love books and libraries though. Trade lives for a few weeks? You can have my job. Where you are stuck in the same office day after day. Wait, that's not very helpful, is it now? ;(

I love libraries as well, just not when I am stuck in them with deadlines looming over my head. When I was in middle school, I used to spend whole afternoons curled up in a corner of our public library (after a while, I had read the complete children's department).
Well, the stuff I have to code would probably be quite easy for you, but I doubt that I could code things for your work.

Yes, that is totally what we tell others, that it is easy for us. In fact we spend half the time on StackOverflow looking up solutions or randomly writing things until something eventually works. But don't tell anyone that, us developers like to uphold our image of being very smart (to be fair, finding existing solutions is totally smart and efficient)

Yeah, that's rough to read on FB. Now that I'm done with college(well, I gotta do my master's, but that will be online)...spring break is a thing of the past. As a tax accountant, I curse spring now.

Don't worry, most people acknowledge those guys are assholes. Wow, yeah, thanks dick for throwing your relaxing beach holiday, your hot girlfriend/boyfriend and how you have no worries in our face. We really appreciate that, having to work and suffer >:P
I can't tell if I just had particularly rough night of sleep, or if I'm coming down with a really major sick. I really hope it's not the latter, since I'm not normally prone to sickness and when I do catch something, it usually hits me like a train.

-- As a US military member, my battle-buddy (a former marine) told me to always, always heed those gut feelings when it comes to potential safety of yourself and others. I had one day on deployment when I asked him if the day 'felt odd' to him too. He looked me square in the eye and asked me, 'Do you feel like you're going to die today? Because I will cancel this flight right now if so.'
I didn't, and we didn't, but that was a life lesson I'll never forget.
