Several days late, but a huge rave to @Kelly, @Zyphora, @Acrune, @Morgfyre, and @Sior. The first two for being awesome in DC, Acrune for letting me make use of his height to take a picture, and Morgfyre and Sior for letting me blab on about stuff, be it first experiences with dreamweaving, to various Aquamancy related things. A general rave does go out to everyone else, but those 5 were the main ones who really helped me have an awesome time.
A secondary rave goes to Kelly(again), @Saoirse, and Acrune along with a few other peeps for a fun an entertaining skype call, even if my feelings were hurt a couple of times.
You're great. And you have thicker skin than that!
My mentor guy that got into the nasty car wreck is doing...as good as can be expected with broken back and neck. He can move his arms a bit, though his hands aren't really able to move, and while he can't move his legs he does have feeling in them. So, while he's not out of the woods as far as getting back to being his old self, we're pretty hopeful that with physical therapy he'll make a good recovery.
Discussing Lusternia in front of a friend's kid is an interesting experience-
Me: Well, this guy threatened me, so I had to go attack him and...
Concerned six-year old: How did he threaten you?
Me and his mother: We're just talking about a game, sweetie.
Makes me wonder just how much he pays attention to our conversations. And whether it's too soon to start filling his head with Glomdoring propaganda.
"Chairwoman," Princess Setisoki states, holding up a hand in a gesture for her to stop and returning the cup. "That would be quite inappropriate. One of the males will serve me."

I have a discovered a fun, depressing game to play. When people are talking about the cost of combat in Lusternia, replace the word "combat" with "college", "credit" and "credits" with "money", and "artifact" or any artifact names with "tutor" or "study group".
Do you know how hard it is to get into combat as a noob? You have to spend a monumental amount of credits just to compete. Then you need artifacts, and you'll find out that they cost more than you thought, so you'll need more credits, and need to take out a loan from somebody you trust and hope you'll be able to pay them back.
My local grocer now carries foie gras! Oh the nerve of some people to carry delicious, delicious foie gras! How dare they provide such a heavenly food.
I'm going to protest by buying a few ounces every day. Yeah, that'll teach them.
Liver is disgusting no matter what animal you pry it from before you eat it.
Everiine said: The reason population is low isn't because there are too many orgs. It's because so many facets of the game are outright broken and protected by those who benefit from it being that way. An overabundance of gimmicks (including game-breaking ones), artifacts that destroy any concept of balance, blatant pay-to-win features, and an obsession with convenience that makes few things actually worthwhile all contribute to the game's sad decline.
With truffles! Oh, those sick, sick, puppies. Eh-yup. I'm definitely protesting daily now. I'll buy their entire stock of foie gras so no one else has to endure the insult such a heavenly delicacy might offer their sensitivities.
I am now the registered owner of a side business. Looking to do freelance (web) development. I already got a few leads, and even a project idea I need to investigate if it has any marketability. I'm still a bit "whoah, how did that happen", but it's a good feel and that tells me I am on the right track With some luck and of course some hard work, I might be able to leverage this into reduced days at my main job or even becoming my main occupation one day. No running before I can walk but damn the prospect of that sure sounds awesome to me right now.
(Yes, I know being your own boss isn't all sunshine and rainbows, but after nearly 4 years of being miserable in office jobs I think I'd rather take the risks of self-employment than the misery of office politics. And for now, as a side business, I get to try it out without losing my security. Win-win.)

If olive oil comes from olives, where does baby oil come from?
If vegetarians eat vegetables, what do humanitarians eat?
Well, I think it's him. More news as it develops.
