  • It's probably been discussed before at length, and only tangentially related to the topic at hand, but what does the game actually lose if we remove Thirdeye showing location on who and refund all cloaking gems?
  • Quick people, go inactive so your organization doesn't shut down!

    #outplayed
  • (Quote) I like this. Other stuff, like my custom demigod descriptor and stuff, I don't care for. 50 credits here, some gold there. Mostly care about the big stuff like pet, cubix, wonder items. And this is fine for that. Some of the honours w…
  • The big concern, or the concern behind the concern, can be boiled down to 'Where will my character go' if my org is shut down. Which is a real question.

To that end, your options are relocating your character or potentially just rerolling…
  • As a note, venting in therapy is... Not the same as what's happening here. There is guided venting to help both parties find the why behind the anger. And then there's venting because you feel you're anger is righteous.

    Like Coraline said…
  • (Quote)  That's more of a personal thing, heh. I don't consider anyone I don't spend time with in real life to be a friend. :P People I game with are just that - people I happen to game with.

Anyways, the concern of people not bein…
  • (Quote) I mean, I don't hate anyone in this game, so it's hard for me to do with this specific community. I also have the benefit of not being mired in 'recent' (the last... 10 years?) of history, of course. I have literally no friends in thi…
  • (Quote) You are correct on all counts.

Try to understand why people act the way they do instead of judging them. When things are as bad as they are in this community, that's the only way to move forward. But also, I'm pretty strong…
  • It is troubling to me to see this attitude of 'well if you're toxic, we aren't going to let you in'. It is troubling because it points to an attitude of wanting to see the game survive and prosper only as I see fit. If we're shutting down orgs, it's…
  • I mean, it doesn't even have to be chat up. Just the other day Shango gave me the corpse of a glom who died on prime so I could rez her when I came looking. Maybe not the best rp moment, but man it sucks to die on prime as a titan.
  • (Quote) The people in this thread who vocalized being against 2v2 did so because they wanting a system of shifting alliances so we don't get locked into a population imbalance. 1v1 is... exactly the same thing. To make it more clear, imagine …
  • How is 1v1 better than 2v2? Like if you are against the idea of 2v2, should you not also be against the idea of 1v1? 2v2 at least allows some (theoretical) flexibility in alliances going forward, 1v1 would simply set any pop issues in stone forever?
  • I imagine she meant than, not then. Ie. She'd rather have the former rather than the latter. But this is me reading in good faith, not actually speaking for anyone else of course.
  • (Quote) The original post said it's a possibility. So there's that, not actually set. But also if we aren't actually revamping the orgs, so much as merging them, I figured there'd be no need for character rewrites.
  • It lets people keep most of their identity. It does suck I don't get a free reroll though :(
  • It would let us do the whole City of Conquest and Order, City of freedom and light, and the great forest. I do enjoy it.
  • So closing down the orgs/merging them purely in a political sense? Ie. One CT, one helpfile, one ruling council for the two communes?
  • If new orgs is an option at all, then yes, that's ideal. I know Estarra said no way, too much work, but that was the same thing said about shutting down orgs not that long ago. Sooooo
  • Thanks Orael. I'm just looking for an admin post every couple of pages of this thread. Will help keep the discussion rooted/guided. Less us squabbling amongst ourselves.
  • Where did majority voice 3 over 4? This is why I'm wanting Estarra to make a call. A lot of opinions will change based on which orgs and how many. It's hard to gauge player reaction to the full extent without hashing things out as we go along.
  • By and large, I think people are begrudgingly accepting that we may need to cut down orgs to keep the game going. The details are messy. Lots of them to sort out. But the first two big ones are:

Which orgs are going to be removed?
    Is…
  • (Quote) This is kind of the thing Xenthos is saying is a bad.

Ok, Mag is deleted. Lots of Mags move to another org - let's not pretend they're going to disperse equally amongst all other orgs, instead of just migrating with their f…
  • I'm not sure why we're so focused on 3 orgs left when Estarra said that 4 orgs is an option. And then, if we are set on three orgs, why it shouldn't be the three most populous orgs (Mag, Glom, and whatever is left) to disrupt the least number of peo…
  • (Quote) You already want 2 villages instead of 1 village. The reason you settle on Rockholm and give Southgard to your ally is because it lets you both win some instead of risking winning none. Game theory. You'd have to introduce a system wh…
  • (Quote) Ok, so I feel there is a leap in logic being made here. Let me try and hash it out.

    1. In 3 org scenarios, if A wins, then B and C have lost. Even if A and B are allied, B didn't actually receive anything in that conflict.<…
  • I'm not seeing how three orgs works. Let's say we go down to Glom/Mag/Seren. Glom and Mag are allied and doing their Glom-Mag owns the world thing. Why would anyone in Glom or Mag suddenly step out of that alliance to help Seren when they're winning…
  • (Quote) Other older players said three orgs didn't work. So. Now what?
  • (Quote) But nobody cares about which orgs were successful before - the cut didn't happen then. The cut is happening (potentially) now, so you look at the changes that will disrupt the least number of players now. Which orgs are most populous …
  • I don't think anybody would be -forced- to reroll. But it would be an option, ideally.
