That number exists in case people want to trade them in. Their inherent rarity from not being available for regular purchase gives them a much higher actual value than this. Even still, only the most expensive few approached that 500cr worth mark.
Fun numbers!!!!! Math only includes artifacts that are available for regular purchase (or were up to this point) as the value of artifacts not normally available for purchase aren't readily available.

Ilthilior placed in two and he isn't an arti-whore. Told me he wanted to use the credits for lessons in resilience so we could have nicer spars in the arena.

These competitions don't coincide, so you can easily participate in all of them. 100cr may seem like nothing to established players who are decked out in arties and omnitrans, but to a newish player who is still trying to find w…
A completely new look at cost vs benefit, risk vs reward for small scale raiding. This part of the game has basically been removed and a lot of us are sad about it in 2013 Players' WishlistComment by ShikhaFebruary 2013
They aren't going to change avenger. It's come up a billion times and each time it has been shot down. The only way to keep avenger from being a factor is to remove the opportunity for people to abuse the mechanic in the first place.
It doesn't matter how many rooms you are in enemy territory for before reaching the cay. You can be zapped immediately and the declare carries through. I'm not even mag anymore and get zapped by Kelly sometimes as soon as I step out of limbo to go d…
My real problem with the concept of a gold auction is that it just constitutes a way to bypass the credit market for things that people would normally buy credits to purchase. Why bother having this mechanic anymore if this is how we are going to do…
While fun, one-shot gold removals for a special event don't really constitute a legitimate gold sink. Not enough gold will be removed (only the winner loses their gold) and happening only once, a ton of gold will still be floating around. People wil…
Are people expecting to get gold auctioned arties for deep discounts? There are definite price floors because we all know what the exact tradein value of these artifacts are, and as we approach the real retail value of the artifacts, as converted in…
Bookbinder ability to create Ikon Binders, which can be filled with ikons and dropped in a shop so you can price and sell icons through a shop interface. (ok, maybe not so simple lol)
Easier would be something cheap to serve like the pede…
Not all of my examples relied entirely on branch effects. I very intentionally included one for branches, one for spore tics, and one for an active ability for the purpose of displaying that there are ways to work those kinds of things into each por…
I understand what you are saying with the hindering, but a fractured skull isn't going to prevent a person from leaving either. It also represents a serious divergence from the "What it's like to fight a tree" theme. These are spores, how do they br…
Yeah, it's also passive, meaning you can time all sorts of other attacks/afflictions to pile onto that. Including but not limited to stuns, impatience+stupidity, extra limb breaks, damage, etc.
The branch abilities are supposed to contribute to the offense, 3/4 of them prevent attacks from lots of enemies until cured thereby preventing the branches from continuing to proc.
In the past extremely verbose designs have shown more than an tendency to win. It's happened with enough frequency that designers have chosen to completely avoid concise or understated designs as entries to the beauty seal contest because there is a…
