While I haven't done the Goloth yet, I did speak to Viynain about it. According to him, the quest takes 6-8 hours. The mirror takes 10 minutes. There's still a huge discrepancy in accessibility of Soulless contra Vernal curios.

Yes. But completing the quest is to make the one responsible for filling the well run away from his duties. Meaning that if not for Maeve's amnesia dust, the well would remain unfilled forever.

It is weird that in order to fill the Well of Souls, you need do a quest that by all appearances should stop the Well of Souls from being filled.
