  • Minipets like poteen burps? If so please no, those things were absolutely cluttering up everything for a while.
  • I'm into getting fortune cookies or non-consumable promo items (genie curio pieces? Fraction of a piece of coal?)
  • I'd like tradeable urtraps please. I have ZERO interest in any of the cookies, either to produce for personal use or to sell. They were always the dross I'd store and forget about. It's a super tedious setup to produce something I don't want, don't …
  • Oh that's a good point, were common skills downgraded to core in such a way as to preserve value?
  • I've got some time today with the storm, someone send me the new ABs?
  • Non-server side pathing can add delay times into the calculation for when to use a path or not which makes them very efficient and gives folks without a bunch of other teleportation/contrivances much MUCH faster pathing to basically everywhere.
  • Does this not work?

FATE VIEW <deck>                             Alternately, you can specify which
game to view by using the item

  • (Quote) This isn't fundamentally a problem with too much complexity though, it's the exact opposite.
  • What? My impression was that you cast it on someone already IN your room, as it summons them "back to [your] room".
  • In short, there's plenty to do in an absolute sense: you can always go bash a new area or bang your head against a totally oblique quest "puzzle" if that's your thing. There's just nothing to do that causes your character to matter.
  • My big sticking point is that the game is overall not an interactive storytelling experience, something I want from any role playing game. A lot of roleplaying has eroded over the years, I think as more roleplayers come to realize that their ro…
  • You don't actually have to hunt pieces in the curiomarket for a variety of reasons. One you can filter search (From any location) to just the exact pieces you want. ALSO if you're using buy orders it's literally effortless, you just automatically po…
  • (Quote) [And at least one other IRE iirc presents the config ansi option to start.]
  • Notably, at least one of the other games allows color tags in helpfiles, and I'm not aware of there being massive problems with it or people making every other word a different garish color or w/e, though of course that doesn't mean it's not a thing…
  • ANSI colour is a standard system whereby a limited set of colours can be transmitted over
the communication lines to be displayed on your client of choice. We highly recommend
using ANSI colour because it can make it much…
  • Don't you specifically need to turn colors on as a config at character creation? Should be easy to have an "extra colors" option that toggles player controlled colors.

  • If you aren't trying to develop, don't bother with any of that. Just download the zip for your class or the allclasses version, use the package manager to install it. Restart mudlet and do mminstall to setup.

  • Eh, I don't think that's been true for a long time now, as far as "customer service" type concerns go and not "i'm not satisfied with this game system" type stuff.
  • Economy/trades overhaul: a really robust and well-thought out rewriting/expansion of the game's economy so that there's stuff to *do* outside of PvP or bashing. The mechanical parts of the game right now are 1) grinding (yawwwwwwwwwwwn) or 2) PvP (b…
  • I think it would be alleviated some if a lot more was just... set up automatically from the start. Instead of loading newbies with vials and teardrops, just give them teardropped vials already linked to fluids, with liquidrift learned at baseline (i…
  • Who needs paint palettes though?
  • Yeah we have our ships "classed" too, with specific instructions on what to do with them, where to leave them etc. I think we have three that are specifically for 'travel'.

Some are "academy" class ships that are intended for people to t…
  • There are bashing opportunities in aetherspace, but you can't... do them solo and no iteration of piracy in aetherspace (which already sort of exists: the Gnafia) would allow you to solo go out on a ship and bash in any reasonable way.
  • Yes.

The majority of characters do not have a personal ship, and many of the ships (particularly very big ones) are purchased by organizations and not individual players - with a few notable exceptions. You're not really intended to have…
  • With less than 5 lessons (IIRC) in Aethercraft you can activate a command module and fly out to each bubble! Just be sure to use SHIP STATUS to find a ship that says "Forcefield: on", that way you can just keep moving to avoid taking ship damage. Th…
  • What's the LOOK like? Do you... pass for a Lady with the moon brooch on?
  • Seems to work fine for me!
  • There is a mechanic for that, an org can descend a VA to recover some of the power lost and lower the power cost for raising a new VA. This is marked by characters showing as "Vernal Demigods", like in Simple Ideas Comment by Enya August 2018
